Introduction to Brittany

Brittany is currently the Assistant Professor of Sculpture + New Genres at California State University, located in the greater Los Angeles area. At CSULB her teaching and research includes specialization in digital fabrication (3D printing, Laser Cutting, Advanced CNC), kinetics and physical computing, traditional sculptural practices, and video. Brittany received her BFA from the Ohio State University in Art and Technology and her Master of Fine Arts in Electronic Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to living and working in Long Beach, she was the Assistant Professor of Digital/Hybrid Media at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She is originally from the small city of Lima, Ohio. 


Introduction to Cara

Cara is currently the Director of Science Communications in the Department of Entomology at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She teaches and communicates science in a variety of ways, not least of which is through the direction of an annual festival with 215 volunteers who reach out to 6,000+ attendees (www.arizonainsectfestival.com). Her formal scientific training is as an entomologist with an MS and PhD. Cara is largely self-taught as a freelance science artist and uses a variety of traditional and digital media to visual data and other science graphics.
